Day 1: Cochin
A warm welcome by our representative greets you just after your arrival in Cochin. Immediately you are transferred to the hotel. Get refreshed and set out for a sight seeing trip of the city of Cochin.Cochin, nothing less than a jewel in the treasure trove of Kerala is the perfect destination to start a tour of "God's own country". Aptly referred to as the gateway of Kerala, it boasts not just of scenic beauty but of several historical structures as well. The oldest church in India, St. Francis Church is in Kochi. Symbolic of the architectural skills of the Portuguese, the Vasco House still stands proudly, so does the Jewish Synagogue and the Dutch Palace. The former is best known for its sparkling Belgian chandeliers and the latter for the impressive mural paintings depicting scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
A walk along the beaches of Cochin viewing the ships in the distance, the Chinese fishing nets and not to miss the vast expanse of water beautifully wraps up the day trip of Cochin. Retire to your hotel for a good night's sleep.
Day 2: Cochin - Munnar
Immediately after breakfast, we set out for Munnar, a place enticing in every respect. At the end of this journey by road, you might feel a bit tired. Keeping that in mind we move to the hotel immediately after arrival. Enjoy a sweet sleep, get over all your fatigue and be prepared for a great day ahead.
Day 3: Munnar
Today we will be exploring the beautiful hill station of Munnar. Just after breakfast, we set out to savor its natural beauty and also visit its various tourist attractions. Munnar is indeed breathtakingly beautiful and its cool air soaked with the aroma of spices is refreshing for all those who have been pent in the city for long. The lofty mountains, the lovely valleys, the serenity of the atmosphere make Munnar an eternal favorite.Some of the spots not to be missed out on are the Tata Tea Museum, the CSI Church and the Blossom International Park. Built way back in the year 1910, the church is remarkable for its stained glass decorations and brass plaques. If you've long been yearning for moments of solitude, get in to the underground meditation center of the park. At the end of the enjoyable trip, retire to the comforts of the hotel and enjoy a sweet sleep until morning.
Day 4: Munnar - Kumarakom
Kumarakom is an integral part of the Tour itinerary of Kerala and understandably so. Kerala is best known for its backwaters and an extensive portion of Kumarakom's beauty lies in the panoramic stretches of palm fringed backwaters. So just after breakfast, we set out for it. On reaching, we move to a hotel and you are at liberty to spend the day at leisure. The journey might be tiring, so relax in the comforts of your hotel and get over all your tiredness. There's much in store for you the next day.
Day 5: Kumarakom
A boat cruise in the serene stretches of Kumarakom back waters - this is the highlight of the day.The journey is sure to remain etched in your memories forever. It is simply a delightful experience to make way through those waterways laced with coconut trees.The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is also to be covered today. Located on the banks of the Vembanad Lake, the sanctuary is home to an amazing variety of birds. View the beautiful feathered creatures and listen to their sweet humming notes. Some of the birds that can be spotted here include Siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and teal. At the end of the eventful day, return to your hotel and rest for the night.
Day 6: Kumarakom - Kovalam
Any tour itinerary of Kerala is incomplete without the inclusion of Kovalam. We aspire to provide you with the very best of exotic Kerala and with this purpose in mind we start for Kovalam just after breakfast.After reaching Kovalam, we check into the hotel. And for the rest of the day, you can while away your time as you please. This idyllic retreat was formerly a sleepy tropical beach, but presently it draws a large number of tourists, but in spite of that it has managed to retain its classic charm. The lovely golden beaches dotted with swaying palm trees appears to have emerged straight out of a post card and is sure to captivate you.
Day 7: Kovalam
The whole day will be devoted to exploring the beauty of this lovely sea side. The light house beach is the best known beach in Kovalam. It offers a striking view of the Vizhinjam Mosque. The Samudra Beach is a better option for those who love solitude for it is not the centre of much activity and impresses one with its tranquility. The Hawah Beach bustles with the activities of fishermen particularly in the mornings.You can bask in these beaches, take a stroll along them and as the sea waves are no less welcoming you can also take a dip in its azure waters. Each moment is sure to be thoroughly enjoyable and fond memories of these days will be cherished by you for long. At the end of the fun filled day, retire to your hotel room.
Day 8: Kovalam - Trivandrum
The blissful holiday in Kerala comes to an end today. Every moment of the trip was memorable but as all good things in life must come to an end it's time now to head for Trivandrum Airport and board the flight back home. |
